Bodybuilding requires not only regular exercise/training, it also requires significant attention is given to nutrition. Many competitive bodybuilders have claimed that bodybuilding nutrition is actually more important than the physical training. As the competition day draws near, their nutrition/diet becomes much stricter.

Serious bodybuilders consume large quantities of protein on a daily basis in order to fuel muscle growth. Complex carbohydrates like potatoes and rice, are typically included in their diet because they are low-fat foods that provide the energy needed to complete their demanding workouts. It also common for bodybuilders to eat 5-6 meals a day instead of 3.
